Hale Carnival Committee Statement – July 2026

It is with genuine sadness that the Hale Carnival Committee has made the difficult decision not to hold Hale Carnival in July 2026.

This was not a decision taken lightly. Following careful discussion, the committee agreed that, with a largely new and inexperienced committee and a lack of confirmed volunteers at this stage, we could not confidently deliver the safe, successful carnival that the Hale community deserves.

Hale Carnival has always been about bringing people together, supporting good causes, and celebrating our community spirit. Pausing in 2026 allows us to focus on rebuilding — growing our volunteer base, strengthening the committee, and planning properly — so that we can return in 2027 with a stronger, more sustainable event.

The committee remains active and committed. We will continue to run smaller community events during 2026, including a quiz night in May, and we warmly welcome anyone who would like to get involved, volunteer, or join the committee.

We would like to thank the community, our volunteers, sponsors, suppliers, and supporters for their understanding and continued encouragement. We look forward to bringing Hale Carnival back in 2027 — refreshed, resilient, and ready to celebrate together again.

about us

The Hale Carnival, based in Upper Hale, Farnham, Surrey, is held on the first Saturday in July every year. The carnival is run by an amazing group of people from the local community. The carnival is paid for through stall sales on Carnival Day, fundraising and grants. The committee meets monthly to organise fundraising events and the main carnival event. Surplus money raised, we donate back to the community.
